Arran Pilot are one of the nation’s favourite home-grown potatoes and we can see why – they have a great resistance to all forms of scab and scores a high 9 for spraing resistance.
These have been around since the 1930’s and have remained so popular due to their excellent taste! The flesh is pure white and is best used for boiling, but also great for chipping too!
First early seed potatoes have the shortest maturing time from as little as 60 – 110 days. These are often enjoyed as new potatoes because of their thin skins, and most varieties are best eaten as soon as they are harvested.
Our 2kg packs contain between 20 to 25 tubers graded 35 to 60 mm.
Here is an idea for the planting and harvesting times for our first early varieties
|Planting ||Harvesting |
|Early February to March ||Early May* |
|Normal April ||Normal June to July |
* remember harvesting early could lead to smaller potatoes and low yields
