Our Freesia corms can be planted directly in the garden from April in well-drained fertile soil or in pots in the greenhouse from March.
Place the corms pointy side up in a mix of compost and horticultural grit and at a depth of 5cm and space of 5-8 cm. Water well once planted.
Once the plants are growing well, give them a potash-rich feed like tomato feed to promote strong growth and plentiful flowers and keep them in a sunny spot.
Freesias are not fully hardy so lifting them in autumn and keeping them dry over winter in old compost and then replanting again in the spring into fresh compost is a good idea.
