Herbs are easy to grow, don’t need any special attention, are happy planted in normal garden soil for the most part in a mostly sunny site and the best thing, apart from the fact they are edible, is that they are magnets for pollinating bees and butterflies.
Freshly harvested herbs are so wonderful to have growing in the garden or on the kitchen window sill and the great joy is that they are edible and can be used in soups, salads, recipes from around the world, garnishes and popped into refreshing summer drinks.
Herbs do really well growing individually in pots and containers. They can look fabulous in hanging baskets too alongside summer bedding. Kept by the back door, herbs grown in tubs or in a small herb bed can be easily accessed in less than clement weather when a walk down the garden is not appealing!
