Hydrangea

Hydrangeas originate from Japan and have long been popular shrubs in European gardens but, like many traditional plants, they have tended to be in and out of fashion with the whims of garden designers.  But, since the introduction of Hydrangea ‘Miss Saori’ winning Plant of the Year at the 2014 Chelsea Flower Show, Hydrangeas have again become favoured plants and will probably remain so as more of us are introducing shrubs to our garden borders.  There are many new and exciting varieties and with the array of sizes and colours available now, there is a Hydrangea to suit every garden.

Good quality ball of jute which will last ages. Narrow hole so would not fit my wooden string holder but I will manage.

The Thyme plugs were very healthy and already flowering and look as if they are going to grow into strong plants. I do not like the mesh plugs that they are planted in as I don't think the roots ever grow through through them properly. I removed them before I potted the plants into pots with good quality compost.
