Soft orange-apricot bi-colour petals with rusty red almost burgundy speckled centres give this Asiatic Lily its dramatic look. Asiatic, Oriental and Trumpet lilies are often grown for their flamboyant colours and fragrant blooms. The lily bulbs can be planted in spring and will be in flower during high summer bringing elegance, colour, form and height to borders, patio pots and containers. Height 100cms. The Oriental and Trumpet lilium varieties have the added bonus of an intense and heady fragrance. They attract bees, pollinating insects, butterflies and moths. Asiatic lilies are dependable perennials that are ideally suited to growing in pots. They originate from several areas of Asia and have the greatest range of colours, flower shapes and heights due to the hybrids that have been bred over recent years. They have the longest bloom time and can be in flower earlier and longer than other lilies. They will happily grow in an alkaline soil or coir based compost and will readily multiply. They generally do not have a scent, but some varieties do. Excellent to use as cut flowers.

Product Code:  PLIL045

Liliums prefer a rich soil that is well-drained in a sunny to partial shady spot. They prefer their roots in part-shade and their heads in the sun so planting the bulbs between low growing shrubs can work well, where they can also remain undisturbed.
Dead head lilies once the flowers have faded, so that the plant can put its energies into producing a floriferous bulb for the next season.
