What a beauty this is! Known as the Star of Bethlehem or the Arabian Starflower, this delicate looking flower is a robust, hardy perennial and when given the right growing conditions will reward you every late spring to mid-summer with its graceful and unusually shaped flower heads. The sweetly scented clusters of tiny white starry flowers have striking black, almost bead/berry-like centres. Ideal planted in groups near the back door or along a pathway or in an alpine/rock garden.

Plant the bulbs pointy side up in a sheltered site in full sun that has good drainage. Bulbs can be planted closer together when growing in pots or containers. Plant them at three times their depth and approximately 5cm apart. Plant the bulbs in 5’s, 7’s or 9’s, to give a great display – they look more outstanding in a group rather than dotted about and the scent will be more powerful.
If ordered with plants we will normally dispatch flower bulbs with your plant order during your first requested dispatch week. The bulbs were past their best. I probably shouldn't have ordered them so late in the season, but they were mouldy and this part of the order should have been cancelled. I have put them in damp compost to try to plump them up, but to no avail. The rest of my order was first class.
