Available now, priority dispatch.
A truly outstanding pea that is one of the most popular pea varieties to grow, often winning gardeners choice awards for the best overall pea, being reliable with good disease resistance and heaviest cropping.
Many young people today have never seen a pea-pod and only recognise peas if they come out of a plastic bag! We think this is a sad state of affairs because when grown fresh, peas are a totally different vegetable to those that are frozen. To get the sweetest flavour, peas are best cooked when picked young and cooked within 30 minutes of harvest, before the sugar has turned to starch.

Sow direct as soon as the soil is workable in spring as peas grow well in cool weather. Make drills approx. 12-15cms wide and 4-5cms depth. Place seed about 5cms apart, water and fill in. For taller varieties of peas, supports should be put in place as soon as the seedlings appear. Germination takes around 7-14 days. Peas need to be kept well-watered once they have produced flowers and pods. Peas will be ready in around 50-55 days.** Brookside Nursery Top Tip - Pea pods have a habit of hiding under the foliage and tendrils, so look underneath to get all the crop.
