Although Rodgersia prefer a damp shady situation they will perform well in dappled shade too so some sun throughout the day should not be a problem. A dressing of leaf mulch in spring will help to keep moisture in the soil and suppress weeds.Ideal plant to grow even in a wet situation so perfect as a specimen on the edge of a pond or water garden. Rodgersia can be propagated by division in spring by digging up and splitting the rhizomes and replanting.
