An eye-catching type of winter squash that grows on a vine. With its bright orange, green and white variegated colours this delightful winter squash is shaped rather like a cottage loaf with its distinctive ‘cap’ on top. It is usually grown for ornamental purposes for displays during the harvest season, but it tastes good too when picked young, stuffed with rice or meat and baked or roasted in the oven.
A good source of Vitamins B1 and E and high in antioxidants.
