Plant the bulbs pointy side up in well-drained fertile soil in a sunny site.

The plants are long-lived and if you plant the bulbs deeply to begin with they will flower for many years. The curled strappy leaves appear first before the flower stalk. Do not be tempted to cut away the leaves as they are helping to put the goodness into next year’s flowers.  Once the foliage has turned brown and died back, you can remove it.

NOTE – Ornamental onions are harmful if eaten.
