Our herb plugs are securely rooted, healthy plugs that would benefit from being grown on in 9/10cm pots for a few weeks before planting out in herb gardens, containers or hanging baskets. Tender varieties will need protecting from frost. Compost volume around 2.5 – 3cm deep x 3.2cm square. Foliage height 1.5cm – 5cm (depending on variety). Full growing instructions are provided.
General Growing Advice
Using a good quality multi-purpose compost, pot up your plugs into 10cm pots. Once your plug plants have been potted on and labelled, water them in well and grow on for around 5-6 weeks. Water once the compost starts to dry out but remember.
If preferred you can pot on the plugs into hanging baskets, flower bags or pots. Add a slow release plant food like Miracle-Gro Slow Release All Purpose Plant Food to your compost which will give extra nutrients for strong and healthy plant growth.
Keep plants frost free until mid/late May and then harden off before being placed in their final positions when the risk of frost has passed in your area.
Water as necessary giving a liquid feed such as Neudorff Organic Plant Feed as instructed throughout the growing season.
***For packs of 40 plug plants gently remove the small plugs from the tray by pushing up from the bottom using a pencil.
These herbs are so easy to grow and as they are perennial, will die down in the winter months and re-appear next spring. Pot them on as for the annual herbs and then plant into pots or the garden.

Supplied as medium plug plants, they were strong healthy plants with a good top growth and root system. I planted them on for 2 weeks before putting them in large tubs using a good compost mixed with perlite and vermiculite. They have been outside now for a month and all plugs are growing very well. Top quality plants, arrived the day after they were despatched, very well packaged.
Strong plants, well packaged. Very pleased.
They are thriving in my hanging baskets. Cant wait for fruit.
Very good plants growing well will definitely order again
Despite the inevitable initial delay these were despatched on time and despite the best delaying efforts of Royal Mail were received in good order, planted quickly and now growing. Only suggestion is that Royal Mail us not reliable at the moment and other couriers might have been better. Would use the nursery again.
The plants arrived when they said they would, they were healthy when they got here and are growing well with no problems.
The Brookside nursery website was user friendly and communication good throughout. The plants were well packaged and although one plant had few roots, they all appeared healthy and are growing well
