This compact perennial is known for its delicate, two-tone blooms that feature deep purple outer petals and a bright white centre. Supplied as a 9cm garden-ready plant, Aquilegia Earlybird Purple White is a versatile and hardy variety that will add elegance and charm to your borders, beds, and containers.

Key Features:

Eye-Catching Two-Tone Blooms: The enchanting purple and white flowers of Aquilegia Earlybird Purple White stand out in any garden, creating a beautiful contrast that adds depth and interest to your planting schemes.

Early Flowering Variety: This early-blooming variety produces its stunning flowers from April to June, offering an early burst of colour in your garden when many other plants are still developing.

Compact Growth Habit: With its neat, compact form, Aquilegia Earlybird Purple White is perfect for smaller spaces, borders, or even containers, fitting seamlessly into any garden design.

Attractive to Pollinators: The intricate, bell-shaped flowers are a magnet for bees and other pollinators, making it a great addition to wildlife-friendly gardens.

Hardy Perennial: Aquilegia Earlybird Purple White is a reliable and low-maintenance perennial that will return year after year, providing beautiful blooms with minimal effort.

Care Instructions for Aquilegia Earlybird Purple White:

Ideal Planting Location: Plant in a sunny or partially shaded position with well-drained soil. Aquilegia thrives in a wide range of soil types but prefers a rich, moist environment.

Planting Steps: Remove the plant from its 9cm pot and plant at the same depth as it was growing in its container. Space plants around 30cm apart to allow for growth.

Watering Tips: Water thoroughly after planting to help establish strong roots. Keep the soil evenly moist, especially during dry periods, but avoid waterlogging.

Feeding Schedule: Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer in spring to promote healthy growth and flowering.

Deadheading and Pruning: Regularly remove spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming and to maintain a neat appearance. Cut back any foliage in autumn once the plant has finished flowering.

Winter Care: This variety is fully hardy, and no special winter care is needed. However, adding a layer of mulch around the base can help protect the plant from extreme cold.
