The Horizon range of Geraniums are one of the best for all-round performance and colour.
Geranium Horizon Scarlet is one of the most popular colours with its dense flower heads appearing above the well zoned markings on the leaves.
The sturdy and compact basal growth of the Horizon range makes it perfect to use in bedding schemes as it gives good ground cover and the flower heads grow uniformly to give a finished look.

Size guide - Tray of 20 Plug Plants
Securely rooted, strong plants in mini-plugs of compost. Will need to be transplanted and grown for a short while before planting out ready to flower. Tender varieties will need protecting from frost. Compost volume around 3cm deep x 2cm square. Foliage height 1.5cm-5cm (depending on variety). Full growing instructions are provided.
Using a good quality multi-purpose compost, pot up your plugs into 10cm pots or use the 6 Pack Cell Plant Trays. Once your Geranium plug plants have been potted on and labelled, water them in well and grow on for 5-6 weeks.
Keep plants frost free until mid/late May and then harden off before being placed in their final positions when the risk of frost has passed in your area.
Brookside Nursery Advice to help you get the best from your Geranium bedding plants.
Perhaps because upright bedding geraniums are quite easy to look after they are one of the most popular bedding plants to grow in troughs, containers, hanging baskets and garden borders during the summer months, but it is still worth taking some care of your geranium plants as they can be in flower for several months.
Once ready to plant outside, space at around 8-12" (20-30cm) apart, preferably where they will receive between 6-8 hours a day of bright daylight or sun. Plant in a free-draining fertile soil if possible but they will still grow in stony, poorer soils. Water in well until plants are established.
Pinching out the first flower buds will ensure that the plant will put its energies into a good root system and leaf growth which will result in a stronger, bushier plant with more blooms.
Geraniums are fairly forgiving if you forget to water them for a day or two. In fact, once established they will prefer too little to too much water. Overwatering and being left in standing water will eventually lead to the roots rotting. Feed throughout the season with a high potash feed as this promotes strong blooms. A diluted measure of Tomorite once a week can be used.
Remove faded blooms as they go over, cutting back to the base of the flowering stem. This will encourage more flowers and keep your display looking fresh and tidy.
At the end of the flowering season, geraniums can be lifted and put onto the compost heap to rot down.
*** For packs of 40/20 plug plants gently remove the small plugs from the tray by pushing up from the bottom using a pencil.
