Ignite your garden with the vibrant Geum Firestarter. This eye-catching perennial bursts with fiery orange-red blooms that add warmth and brightness to borders, containers, and cottage gardens. Supplied as a 9cm garden-ready plant, Geum Firestarter blooms May to September bringing a splash of colour and attracting pollinators to your outdoor spaces.

Key Features:

Fiery Orange-Red Blooms: Geum Firestarter produces striking orange-red, semi-double flowers, adding bold colour and a lively focal point to your garden.

Long Flowering Season: Enjoy months of continuous blooms from May to September, ensuring your garden remains vibrant throughout the growing season.

Compact and Clump-Forming Habit: Growing to around 40-50cm in height, Geum Firestarter has a compact, clump-forming habit, making it perfect for borders, containers, and smaller garden spaces.

Pollinator Friendly: The bright, open blooms attract bees and butterflies, supporting pollinators and bringing extra life to your garden.

Hardy Perennial: Geum Firestarter is a tough and reliable perennial, returning year after year with minimal care, making it a great choice for both novice and experienced gardeners.

Care Instructions for Geum Firestarter:

Ideal Planting Location: Plant in full sun or partial shade with well-drained soil. Geum Firestarter thrives in sunny borders or mixed planting schemes and performs well in most garden conditions.

Planting Steps: Remove the plant from its 9cm pot and plant at the same depth as in the container. Space plants around 30-40cm apart to allow for healthy growth.

Watering Tips: Water thoroughly after planting to help the plant establish. Keep the soil moist, especially during dry periods, but avoid waterlogging. Geums prefer well-drained conditions.

Feeding Schedule: Apply a balanced fertilizer in spring to promote healthy growth and abundant flowering.

Deadheading and Pruning: Regularly deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming and maintain a tidy appearance. Trim back foliage in late autumn after flowering has finished to prepare the plant for winter.

Winter Care: Geum Firestarter is fully hardy, but adding a layer of mulch around the base of the plant in late autumn can help protect the roots during colder months.
