Introducing the newest colour mixture of reds and creams mimicking its name "Strawberries and Cream", creating a dazzling display to your summer borders and pots.

“Bringing a light in the darkness and colour to the shade” aptly describes the fabulous long-awaited and brand-new Impatiens Beacon range, the gardener’s favourite Busy Lizzie, for versatility and summer long performance. After many years of breeding efforts, the Beacon range has been proven to have high resistance to Impatiens Downy Mildew.

The Impatiens Beacon range are easy to grow, tough and reliable plants that will be in flower all season and perform well in baskets, window boxes, patio containers and flower beds in shaded areas.

*Annuals Category Winner of the New Plant Awards 2019 at the HTA National Plant Show.

The most economical way to purchase your plants. Securely rooted, strong plants in mini-plugs of compost. Will need to be transplanted and grown on before planting out ready to flower. Growing Advice

Using a good quality multi-purpose compost, pot up your plugs into 10cm pots. Once your plug plants have been potted on and labelled, water them in well and grow on for around 5-6 weeks. Water once the compost starts to dry out.

If preferred you can pot on the plugs into hanging baskets, flower bags or pots. Add a slow release plant food like Miracle-Gro Slow Release All Purpose Plant Food to your compost which will give extra nutrients for strong and healthy plant growth.

Keep plants frost free until mid/late May and then harden off before being placed in their final positions when the risk of frost has passed in your area.

Water as necessary giving a liquid feed such as Neudorff Organic Plant Feed as instructed throughout the growing season.

***For packs of 20/40 plug plants gently remove the small plugs from the tray by pushing up from the bottom using a pencil.

Brookside Nursery Advice to help you get the best from your Impatien Beacon plants.

Impatien Beacon are the plants to have if you have a part sun/part shade area of the garden as they are adaptable to most situations and weather conditions. They have successfully replaced the older type of busy lizzie that was prone to downy mildew and the Beacon variety has proven its worth to gardeners.

Once ready to plant outside, give them a fertile, well-draining soil. Preparing the area beforehand and enriching with compost or organic matter to make the soil moisture retentive but not waterlogged is advisable.

Space approx. 10-12" (25-30cm) apart to give them plenty of room to grow without being overcrowded. Feed fortnightly with a liquid feed once the blooms appear and continue throughout the growing season. Too little water will result in wilting and blooms dropping off whilst too much water and deep shade can cause the plant to stretch and reduce flowering.
