Care Instructions for Iris-Hollandica Mixed:

Ideal Planting Location:

Plant in full sun with well-drained soil. Iris-Hollandica bulbs thrive in sunny spots, making them perfect for borders, beds, or patio containers.
Planting Steps:

Plant bulbs 10-12cm deep and 10-15cm apart, with the pointed end facing up. Ensure good drainage to prevent bulbs from rotting.
Watering Tips:

Water thoroughly after planting to help establish roots.
Once established, water moderately during the growing season, but avoid waterlogging.
Feeding Schedule:

Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as the new growth appears to encourage strong flowering and lush foliage.
After Bloom Care:

Once the flowers have faded, allow the foliage to die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the next blooming season.
Cut back the dead foliage after it turns yellow and withers.
Winter Care:

Iris-Hollandica bulbs are fully hardy, so no special winter care is required. Mulching around the bulbs can help protect them during severe winters.

The bulbs of dwarf Iris are quite small, but don’t be tempted to plant them too close together.

Planting Iris in the autumn will give them plenty of time to make good root growth.

Plant at a depth of twice the height of the bulb and space them 3cms apart.

Cover the compost with a layer of sharp grit. As well as discouraging snails and other pests, the grit will stop rain splashes on the plants as they mature.
