This Jostaberry is a thorn-less hybrid a cross of a blackcurrant and gooseberry.  The Jostaberry combines the large fruit from a gooseberry and unique taste and vitamin content of a blackcurrant ,very nutritious!  It is a very vigorous, upright bush producing reliable heavy crops of large shiny black berries – double the size of normal blackcurrants, but packed full of flavour with the berries being rich in Vitamin C – excellent for preserves.

Plant Jostaberry (Ribes nidigrolaria) at a distance of 1.5m apart in rows 3-4m apart. They are very resistant to mildew but will require protection against frost. aswell as being resistant to big bud and foliar diseases  Fruits appear from early July.
