Pansy Matrix Blue Blotch|40 Plug Plants is one of the more traditional style of pansies, with bright blue petals, a striking yellow dot centre and an attractive contrasting central dark blotch.

A breakthrough in modern Pansy breeding, these large flowered Pansies have been proven to give outstanding performance for maximum satisfaction in both beds and borders and patio containers. Easy to grow. This series retains pansies’ wonderful cold tolerance, but when the weather is hot and older varieties of pansies become floppy with few blooms, the Matrix pansies will tend to remain well branched, squat and floriferous. Also, the petioles (stems that hold the flowers) don’t become overly stretched, so the flowers remain upright and beautifully displayed throughout the summer.

PLEASE NOTE - flowering times will vary depending on the time they are planted. For autumn flowering you will need to plant these in either grower cell trays or small grower pots for around 4 weeks to allow for root establishment and then they will be ready for you to put in their final place. If you buy these from October onwards ready for spring flowering these need to be grown on in grower cell trays or pots throughout the winter before planting in their final place early spring, they should be left outside to harden them off throughout the winter months.  Here is an idea of when they will then begin to flower for you -

Pansies are great for you autumn and winter flower beds and containers due to their fantastic nature to flower even in the colder months. Here are a few tips in helping them to flower for longer and produce great healthy flowers. When you receive your pansies make sure you've grown them on in suitable pots or cell trays with good quality compost to help the roots mature before planting them in their final growing position. We use 10cm grower pots or 6 cell grower trays here in our nursery to grow these on. The best way to know these are ready is when the roots are touching the sides of the cells or pot. When planting make sure they have an area that has plenty of sunlight or at the most only partly shaded as the flowers will grow towards the sunlight. Try and plant your pansies around 15cms apart keeping the base of the stem at soil level. Once planted make sure you use a good feed to encourage the best growth and flowering. We recommend Neudorff Organic Multi Purpose Plant Feed, great for encouraging bigger blooms and longer lasting flowers and also pet and child safe. Careful attention to the pruning of pansies will help them grow for longer, when the flower starts to fade then take the head off to encourage more flowering.
