Polyanthus Piano Mixed | Tray of 350 Plug Plants
Polyanthus Piano Mixed | Tray of 350 Plug Plants

Polyanthus Piano Mixed is one of the earliest flowering polyanthus on the market. Flowering from October if planted from early august and flowering through to January, you will have a wonderful splash of colour through the winter and spring (please see our graph below for Primrose Bonneli for a similar flowering period). Great colour range, a truly wonderful uniformed and compact variety with heights of 20cm.  Plant our professionally produced primrose plugs into trays or pots. Grow on over winter then plant out into garden borders, patio pots & hanging baskets late winter/early spring. Full variety specific growing instructions sent out with every order.

Primrose and Polyanthus advice. Primroses and Polyanthus are a firm favourite for Autumn and Winter gardens due to their hardy nature. These plants like a shaded area rather than full sun and some of our collection offer early flowering that will last through the summer if given the right conditions. Here are a few tips in helping them to flower for longer and produce great healthy flowers When you receive your plants make sure you’ve grown them on in suitable pots to help the roots mature before planting them in their final growing position. Primroses and Polyanthus prefer a shaded area but can tolerate sunny spots as long as well watered so as not to let the soil dry out. Try and plant your plants around 15cms apart keeping the base of the stem at soil level. Once planted make sure you use a good feed to encourage the best growth and flowering. We recommend Neudorff Organic Multi Purpose Plant Feed, great for encouraging bigger blooms and longer lasting flowers and also pet and child safe. Careful attention to the pruning of these will help them grow for longer, when the flower starts to fade then take the head off to encourage more flowering.
