One of the world’s largest record-breaking pumpkin varieties, the Atlantic Giant Pumpkin can reach around a whopping 300kg in weight (often much bigger) if given the right conditions.
The yellowy/orange flesh is widely used to make delicious pumpkin pie or is just grown purely for the show bench, so if you fancy growing a huge exhibition sized pumpkin, then Dills Atlantic Giant is for you.

Size guide - Pack of 5 Large Plug Plants

Pot Ready, Large, Healthy plants individually rooted in large plugs of compost. Ideal for planting into baskets, containers or small areas in the garden. Best results achieved if grown on for a short while in 9cm/10cm pots prior to planting out if planting straight into garden borders. Tender varieties will need protecting from frost. Compost volume around 4-5cm deep x 3-4cm square. Foliage height 5cm-12cm (depending on variety). Full growing instructions are provided.
Grow on your pumpkin plug plants before planting out, using a large 5L size pot and pot on one plug per pot. Pumpkins (like cucumbers) are susceptible to cold and temperature fluctuations in their early stages of growth so keep them frost free.
Plant out into prepared ground once frosts have passed in your area and plants have been ‘hardened off’.
Prepare an area in your vegetable patch, in advance, that is in full sun, rich in humus and is well drained. Dig a large hole approx. 40cm x 40cm and fill it with a mixture of compost, well-rotted manure and soil making the top into a mound.
Plant pumpkin into the mound of soil/compost hollowing out a small rim to make a basin for ease of watering. Pumpkins are very thirsty vegetables.
Feed regularly throughout the season with a high potassium fertiliser like Tomorite for best results and keep the area weed free.
Brookside Nursery Top Tip - If you are short on space, try growing your pumpkin plants up a trellis placed at an angle and tie in the stems as they grow. *If you are trying for a world record keep the pumpkin itself on the ground!
