Autumn and Winter Flowering Selection

These stand out Violas gets their name from the bee lookalike blooms they produce. With a unique pattern on its petals in shades of golden-yellow, copper and honey. This compact habit plant will make a beautiful display for your Autumn/Winter gardens.

Viola Sorbet is a modern variety that becomes smothered in 1 inch blooms on compact plants.  This weather tolerant viola in a lovely honey yellow, with hints of orange and brown, is perfect for edging your borders or planting in tubs and hanging baskets. You will receive a tray of 40 Premium Quality Professionally Produced Young Plug Plants. All orders are carefully packed and shipped in our specially designed packaging. Plant your plug plants into 10cm (3+1/2") pots or 6 cell trays and grow for a few weeks before planting out. Full variety specific growing instructions are sent out with every order.

PLEASE NOTE - flowering times will vary depending on the time they are planted. When you receive these plug plants they will need planting in either grower cell trays or small grower pots for around 4 weeks to allow for root establishment and then they will be ready for you to put in their final place. Here is an idea of when they will then begin to flower for you -

Violas are great for you autumn and winter flower beds and containers due to their fantastic nature to flower even in the colder months. Here are a few tips in helping them to flower for longer and produce great healthy flowers. When you receive your violas make sure you've grown them on in suitable pots to help the roots mature before planting them in their final growing position. When planting make sure they have an area that has plenty of sunlight or at the most only partly shaded as the flowers will grow towards the sunlight. Try and plant your pansies around 15cms apart keeping the base of the stem at soil level. Once planted make sure you use a good feed to encourage the best growth and flowering. We recommend Neudorff Organic Multi Purpose Plant Feed, great for encouraging bigger blooms and longer lasting flowers and also pet and child safe. Careful attention to the pruning of pansies will help them grow for longer, when the flower starts to fade then take the head off to encourage more flowering.
