A pretty Iris dwarf mix comprising of purples, mauves and yellows, flowering in the depths of winter. These little beauties are one of the first spring bulbs to flower, whatever the weather, flowering from February to March, feeding hungry bees in winter.
At just 15cm in height, Iris reticulata are perfect to grow in pots, window boxes and alpine houses where they can be appreciated at close quarters. They look fabulous planted in clumps in rock/gravel gardens too.

The bulbs of dwarf Iris are quite small, but don’t be tempted to plant them too close together.
Planting Iris in the autumn will give them plenty of time to make good root growth.
Plant at a depth of twice the height of the bulb and space them 3cms apart.
Cover the compost with a layer of sharp grit. As well as discouraging snails and other pests, the grit will stop rain splashes on the plants as they mature.
